Sefar knows that a great screen printed image begins with an even, consistent, repeatable and precisely coated screen. This is the reason that Sefar Inc. offers premium coating equipment for both machine and hand-coating screens.
Grünig G-COAT 404
The Grünig G-COAT 404 gives you the ±1 micron consistency and process improvement of an automatic coating machine without the floor space and financial commitment of a larger coating system.
With “Plug and Coat” technology, the Grünig G-COAT 404 can be easily installed, just unpack, set up and coat! Like all Grünig coating systems, the G-COAT 404 uses the G-401 coating troughs. Once the frame is loaded into the variable height frame clamp, one side of the screen is coated at a time.

Grünig G-COAT 405
The Grünig G-COAT 405 is a small to medium format coating machine that delivers the precision you can expect from Grünig’s coating line. Providing coating passes to both sides of the screen simultaneously, the Grünig G-COAT 405 has a coating tolerance of +/- 1 micron.
The screens are manually loaded from the front, and secured hands free by a foot pedal. The coating sequence can be programmed into the touch panel interface, which can hold several different coating programs.

Grünig G-COAT 405F
The Grünig G-COAT 405F is a version of the G-COAT 405 that has the ability to apply capillary film in conjunction with direct coating (this is an additional option—the machine can still perform wet-on-wet direct coatings from both sides).
The capillary film is mounted on a supporting tube with a cover on top of the machine, and is controlled/applied by a foot-operated pedal. During the coating process, the capillary film is pressed against the fabric, and simultaneously fixed in place with emulsion from the squeegee side.

Grünig G-COAT 411
The Grünig G-COAT 411 is an advanced coating machine for shops that have small, medium and large format frames, and may require additional options for their coating process.
The Grünig G-COAT 411 has a programmable interface that will store up to 15 programs, as well as an option for a hot air dryer on the printing side (to immediately face coat the screen). Similar to the Grünig G-COAT 405 series machines, coating thickness tolerances are +/- 1 micron.

Grünig G-COAT 421
The Grünig G-COAT 421 is an excellent coating choice for the grand format printer looking for process reliability and repeatability for color management purposes and streamlining their entire print process.
The machine is controlled by an innovative touch panel, where trough pressure, speed, dwell time, and coating passes can all be stored in up to 50 different coating programs. The Grünig G-COAT 421 is also an excellent addition to any shop that is trying to improve screen making efficiency by installing in-line equipment. And similar to all Grünig coating machines, screen to screen coating tolerances are within +/- 1 micron.
The Grünig G-COAT 425 (shown below) is an inline version of the Grünig G-COAT 421, which has a conveyor belt to transfer screens from loading station to the drying chamber.

Grünig G-COAT 401 Troughs
Grünig G-COAT 401 Coating Troughs
Grünig G-COAT 401 coating troughs are designed to be compatible with all Grünig coating machines. With Grünig innovation, troughs are color coded to match up with the front and back coating bars on each machine. The high quality aluminum construction is guaranteed.
Coating blades can be changed if a nick or dent were to occur over the life of the trough (also available from Sefar Inc.). Blades come in two different formats, providing an option for up to 4 different blade thicknesses:
• Type I radius: 0.25 and 0.75 mm (standard for most uses)
• Type II radius: 0.5 and 1.00 mm (standard for face coats)
